Me in a nutshell

I recently graduated as a Public Relations Major from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.  I previously earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in 2001.  After graduating, I spent about 2 years in Los Angeles, Calif. working odd jobs, including several stints on popular television shows and movies as a professional background actress.

In 2003, I returned to Madison, Wis. I began work in Desktop Publishing, specializing in InDesign work creating pages for text books.  Just two months before my five year anniversary, I was laid off as our work was being shipped to overseas vendors.  At this point I opted return to school using a scholarship program through the government.  The program was designed to re-educate displaced workers so that they may reenter the work force.

I spent some time working for the Big Blue Box in customer service and wearing a clip-on tie. I landed into the job quite by accident and for awhile I really enjoyed it. After awhile I moved on to a local pharmacy group working as a technician and volunteering my variety of skills to side projects.

Now I’m a mom. My little monkey is the love of my life (his dad is pretty cool too) and I love spending time watching him discover the world around him. We play three days a week and I work part time to attempt to help provide for our family and pay bills (mostly on time).

When I have free-time I read and play video games.

I am a geek at heart, enjoying board games, pen and paper (yes, D&D!), and video games.  If the monkey is cooperating I will occasionally raid with our guild in World of Warcraft otherwise I’m probably absently watching some comic book or geek themed show on Netflix or Hulu.
